Cell-penetrating peptides (CPPs), also known as protein transduction domains (PTDs) are short peptides that facilitate cellular uptake of various molecular entities or “cargo”, which are associated with the peptides either via a covalent bond or through non-covalent interaction.
AltaBioscience can provide CPPs from stock or as custom syntheses. Our stock cell-penetrating peptides include TAT and Penetratin peptides as standard purified peptides, tagged with a fluorophore or in activated format ready for conjugation.
These peptides can also be supplied in activated form, ready for adding to any thiol containing cargo.
Cell penetrating peptides | Peptide sequence | Catalog no. | Quantity |
Fluorescein TAT-Cys amide | FAM–GGGGYGRKKRRQRRRGC-amide | AB-CPP01 | 1 mg |
Fluorescein TAT-thiopyridyl-Cys-amide* | As above (with pre-activated Cys for thiol conjugation) | AB-CPP012 | 1 mg |
TAT-Cys amide | GYGRKKRRQRRRGC-amide | AB-CPP02 | 1 mg |
TAT-thiopyridyl-Cys-amide* | As above (with pre-activated Cys for thiol conjugation) | AB-CPP022 | 1 mg |
Applications and benefits
- Linear peptides conjugated to proteins or DNA.
- CPPs are defined as short, water-soluble and partly hydrophobic, and/or polybasic peptides with a net positive charge at physiological pH.
- Ability to rapidly translocate large molecules into the cell interior.
- Cell-penetrating peptides have low toxicity.
- High yield of delivery.
- Suitable for in vitro and in vivo experiments.
- CPP properties can be optimised to maximise their potential as future therapeutics.
- Fast turn-around on stock and custom synthesised CPPs.
Stock CPPs, useful for making your own peptide – oligo conjugates, are available to order from us.
We provide a fast turnaround on stock and custom CPPs with stock items available for immediate dispatch.
