Amino acid derivatives
Our range of peptide building blocks for SPPS includes high-quality Fmoc-protected amino acids that have high purity as well as high enantiomeric purity.
Fmoc is a convenient amine protecting group that is often preferred over Boc protection due to its compatibility with a wider range of amino acids, its mild deprotection conditions with piperidine, ease of purification, increased peptide yield, and reduced risk of peptide racemisation.
Our Fmoc amino acids also bear a range of side chain protecting groups, which are essential for enabling selective chemical reactions and minimising unwanted side reactions during peptide synthesis. These protecting groups are stable during the synthesis process but can be easily cleaved by treatment with trifluoroacetic acid (TFA), hence ensuring effective coupling and purer peptides.
We offer Fmoc-protected amino acids in 10g, 25g and 50g quantities, as well as in bulk.
HCTU coupling reagent
We offer HCTU (O-(1H-6-Chlorobenzotriazole-1-yl)-1,1,3,3-tetramethyluronium hexafluorophosphate), a highly effective and efficient coupling reagent that enables the rapid and reliable synthesis of peptides, including those with difficult sequences or that require specific modifications. HCTU works by activating the carboxylic acid moiety of the amino acid for amide bond formation in high yield and with low potential for racemisation.
We supply HCTU in quantities ranging from 5g to 1kg.
Wang resin is a type of stable and inert solid support that is widely used in SPPS due to its compatibility with a range of solvents and reagents and its high loading capacity for amino acids.
Covalent coupling of the first amino acid onto the resin via its carboxy-terminal can be chemically challenging. That’s why our Wang resins are already preloaded with a Fmoc amino acid of your choice for increased convenience, ease of use and reliable peptide synthesis.
Our range includes Wang resins loaded with all 20 natural Fmoc amino acids, which are conveniently supplied in 5g quantity.
